One person was killed and six members of his family suffered serious injuries when an autorickshaw they were travelling in overturned near Daharlangi village under Littipara police station of Pakur district today, the police said.
Sibu Murmu (35), a para-teacher, was a resident of Barhet in adjoining Sahebgunj district and was on his way to Pakur along with his family members for a personal work when the incident occurred, the police said.
The injured have been rushed to the hospital and Murmu's body was sent for post-mortem in Pakur Sadar Hospital.
The Police have confiscated the autorickshaw, but the driver managed to flee.
