One person was killed and another seriously injured here today after a gas cylinder, used for inflating balloons, exploded inside a car in which they were travelling, police said.
The incident happened at around 1 pm, when the car was at the C R Avenue and B B Ganguly Street crossing in central Kolkata, a senior officer of Bowbazar police station said.
While Bhupal Halder (40) succumbed to his injuries, Sanjay Saha (29) was in critical condition, the officer said, adding, an investigation has been ordered into the incident.
