1 killed, five injured in train-autorickshaw collision

One person was killed and five others injured when the autorickshaw they were riding was hit by a goods train today at an unmanned railway crossing near here, police said.

The incident took place this afternoon in Naini police station area, they said.

The train was moving at a very slow speed yet the impact of the collision left the three-wheeler scrunched up, said Raj Kumar Pandey, police station In-charge.

The driver was seriously wounded and he succumbed to injuries at a hospital a couple of hours later, he said.

All the five passengers travelling by the vehicle had received minor injuries and their condition is stable after treatment, Pandey added.
