1 killed in fire in Noida shops

One person was killed and another injured when a fire broke out in Shahberi area, gutting three shops last night.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Rakesh today said the fire started in a shop in a jhuggi cluster in Bisarkha police station area and spread to two more adjacent shop.

Giving details of the incident, the police officer said two persons -- Rana and Umesh -- closed their mobile phone shop and slept inside last night. As there was no electricity they had lit a candle.

The fire might have started from the candle and spread to adjacent shops, the police officer said adding firemen reached the shop and brought the fire under control.
