A resident of Bihar was arrested with three kilogram of cannabis in Jammu, a police officer said today.
Acting on a specific information, a police team yesterday laid a surprise check point at the Trikuta Nagar area here and stopped a motorcycle but its rider tried to escape, he said.
After which the police party chased him and nabbed him at some distance, he said.
On checking, three kilogram of cannabis was recovered from the possession of the rider who was identified as Vikas Kumar, a resident of Patna in Bihar, he said.
The accused, an alleged inter-state narcotic smuggler, was arrested and booked under various sections of the NDPS Act, he said.
An investigation is underway in the matter, the Officer said.
