Ten police constables have been suspended and a station house officer has been sent to police lines for alleged dereliction of duty during Ahoi Astami fair in Radha Kund here.

"Yamuna Paar police station SHO Santosh Kumar Yadav and 10 constables from different police stations did not perform their duty at Sabji Mandi-Tiraha Radha Kund point on Tuesday (November 3) evening, which resulted in a bull entering the crowded area and injuring a few people," SSP Rakesh Singh said.

"While SHO Yadav has been given 'Line Hazir' punishment, all the 10 constables have been suspended," Singh said.

Meanwhile, a probe has been ordered into the conduct of Baldeo police station SHO, who allegedly assaulted a married woman recently.

"Deputy SP Ajai Kumar has been asked to probe the allegation. The woman's husband is in jail as he was involved in liquor and other narcotics smuggling," SSP Singh said.

The woman has alleged that the SHO "has taken my mobile number and assured me help when I came to police station to give food to my husband when he was arrested. I was called to a place where I was raped, when my husband was sent to jail".
