Between July 6 and today, ten persons filed their nomination papers before the Lok Sabha Secretary General who is also the Returning Officer for the VP poll.
On July 7, three people filed nominations. The papers of one them was rejected for failing to attach a certified copy of his name in the electoral roll of the parliamentary constituency and depositing security of Rs 15,000.
One person each filed their papers today and on July 10 and 11. The papers of the candidate who filed papers yesterday was rejected on the same grounds.
July 20 is the last date of filing nominations for the August 7 poll.
While the scrutiny will take place on July 21, the last date of withdrawal from the race is July 23.
