Tamil Nadu Fisheries Department successfully coordinated with the Coast Guard and the Indian Mission in Colombo for their rescue, an official release said.
On receiving information about the fishermen's boat from Colombo-based Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), Indian Coast Guard had yesterday rushed its ship ICGS Agalya Bai and brought all the ten to Tuticorin port early this morning, it said.
All of them later reached their native Chinna Muttom in Kanyakumari district, it said.
The Fisheries Department had approached the Coast Guard and the Indian Mission in Sri Lanka following a directive by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, the release said.
