10 held for killing two persons in Odisha

Ten persons were arrested in connection with the abduction and murder of two men, whose skeletons had been found recently from Aska area of Ganjam district, police said today.

All the arrests, including that of the main accused Bhikari Sahu of Nimina and Sunil Nayak of Aska, were made from Purushattampur in Ganjam district yesterday, they said.

P Siba Shankar Dora (32), who worked in CRPF camp at Bhanjanagar and his nephew P Digambar Dora (22) were kidnapped by a gang on March 20 for extortion and subsequently killed, police said, adding, their skeletons were recovered from a drain at Aska on April 10.
 

After kidnapping the duo thinking that they had huge money, the main accused Bhikari Sahu and Sunil Nayak allegedly assaulted them in a hill in Baragon near Aska and beat Digambar to death.

After killing Digambar, the accused persons gunned down Siba Shankar, said SP (Ganjam) Narasingh Bhol.

After killing the duo, they engaged some members of their gang to dump the bodies. They had also engaged their members to kidnap the duo from their village, the SP said.

He said the main accused - Sunil and Bhikari - have several cases involving heinous crimes like murder, dacoity and extortion pending against them.
