At least 10 people have been killed and four others missing in a flood that hit China's southwestern Guizhou Province.

Heavy rain has inundated the province since June 22, affecting nearly 200,000 residents in 30 counties, districts, and cities.

Flooding has damaged more than 60,000 hectares of crops and damaged or destroyed over 7,000 residential buildings.

The provincial meteorological department has forecast more storms during the upcoming weekend. They warned of a high risk of flooding and geological disasters in mountainous areas.

Downpours also hit the city of Huaihua in neighbouring Hunan Province in the last two days.

As of this afternoon, a total of 58,000 residents have been relocated due to the flooding, according to Huaihua flood control headquarters, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
