At least ten people have been killed in a landslide that hit a village in eastern China's Zhejiang Province a week ago when Typhoon Megi wrecked havoc forcing relocation of over 3.15 lakh people, local officials said.

Seventeen people remained missing, the provincial government said.

The rescue and search operation entered the seventh day yesterday, with rescuers still trying to locate the missing ones.

Rainstorms triggered by Typhoon Megi caused about 400,000 cubic meters of debris to slide down nearby mountains, burying 20 houses in Sucun Village, Suichang County last Wednesday.

Sources with the provincial administration of surveying, mapping and geo-information said the houses were buried at an average depth of 15 meters, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
