Ten new pilgrimage destinations were included in Madhya Pradesh government's 'Mukhya Mantri Teerth Darshan Yojna', which recently completed five years, a public relation department official said today.
The 10 new destinations are - Kamakhya Devi, Girnar Ji, Ganga-Sagar, Patna Sahib, and Ujjain, Maihar, Shri Ramraja Orchha, Chitrakoot, Omkareshwar and Maheshwar in MP.
Nearly 5.03 lakh senior citizens took the benefit of the scheme in the last five years, the official said.

The places covered under the scheme are - Badrinath, Kedarnath, Jagannath Puri, Dwarka Puri, Haridwar, Amarnath, Vaishno Devi, Shirdi, Tirupati, Ajmer Sharif, Ramdevra, Kashi, Gaya, Amritsar, Rameshwaram, Sammed Shikhar, Shravanbelgola and Velankanni Church.
In addition to these spots, there is a provision for devotees to visit Kailash Mansarovar, Hinglaj Devi Mandir and Nankana Sahib in Pakistan, Sita Mata temple and Ashok Vatika of Sri Lanka and Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia.
Under the Mukhya Mantri Teerth-Darshan Yojana, any person above 60 years of age and who is a domicile of Madhya Pradesh can avail the benefit of visiting these holy places.
