Doctors at a private hospital here performed three "revision hip replacement" surgeries, which was aired live for 100 orthopaedic surgeons in Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The proceeding was aired live for the orthopaedic surgeons as part of a skill enhancing course.

The surgery was performed on three patients -- two men aged 30 and 35 years and a 70-year-old woman, Anoop Jhurani of Fortis Hospital told reporters here.

A number of patients who had undergone hip or knee replacement surgeries in recent years and had developed infection or other post-operation now can go for "revision replacement" for their either hip or knee, Jhurani said.

"It is important to treat this problem immediately as the infection could damage the hip bone," he said.
