100 families homeless as fire breaks out in slum

Though there was no loss of life in the fire broke out in a slum on Chaar Yaar road in the district, more than 100 huts were gutted in the blaze, district collector Navdeep Rinwa said.

The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.

Majority of those who were rendered homeless belonged to West Bengal's Murshidabad.

The district administration has asked the officials to set up camps in a local college for the affected families.
