The Ghaziabad Development Authority today demolished about 100 jhuggis, illegally constructed on GDA land near Dabur in Kaushambi.
About 4,000 sq metre land worth over Rs 30 crore was grabbed by encroachers, Officer on Special Duty, GDA, Prakash Gupta said.
Shanty dwellers were not vacating the land inspite of a prior notice served upon them, following which GDA police team along with the force from Indirapuram Police Station removed the encroachments, he said.
It took five JCB machines to bulldoze the shanties in two hours, Gupta added.
