Police today destroyed 100 stone crushers and seized three generator sets and a crusher machine during anti-quarry drive under Dehri and Mufassil police station areas of Bihar's Rohtas district, a police officer said.
The raiding policemen were fired upon by the quarry owners but didnot retaliate concentrating on the destruction and seizure, Superintendent of Police (SP) Shivdeep Lande said adding there was no report of any injury.
The SP said, the police teams raided stone mines in Gopi Bigaha village under Dehri police station area and Karbandia hills under Mufassil police station area where they destroyed 100 stone crushers and seized three generator sets and a crusher machine.

A total of 24 rounds were fired at the police men, but they showed restraint, he said.
The police party was at a safe distance from reach of the miners' guns, Lande said.
The SP said that the drive against illegal quarrying will continue in future as there were no legal mines lease out to anybody in the district.
No arrest has been made as the miners fled from the spot during drive, Lande said.
