Over 100 flights were cancelled and thousands of passengers stranded at an airport today in southwest China due to heavy fog, airport authorities said.
A total of 106 flights have been cancelled and hundreds more were delayed in the airport in Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province.
The airport operator and airlines used loudspeakers and text messages to notify passengers of the flight schedules and also offered free meals for stranded ones, state-run Xinhua news reported.
Heavy fog has affected flights into and out of the airport for three straight days.
