The 10th Hero MTB Himalaya mountain biking race starts from September 27, witnessing six days of adventure crossing 100 villages on a 500 km route.
Pankaj Munjal, co-chairman and managing director, also announced that Hero will be fielding its own team for the event.
"Hero Cycles association with MTB Himalaya will provide a platform for promoting and nurturing young talent in mountain biking with the establishment of school level programmes and mountain biking training academies," said Munjal.

The race kick starts from the beautiful and historic town of Shimla. What sets this year's race apart is the participation of world class cyclists.
There will be a total of twelve countries including India, Nepal, Holland, Bangladesh, Austria, Germany, Portugal, Canada, Belgium, Poland, United Kingdom and Columbia that will be represented at the race.
The total vertical climbing of the race will be close to 12500m over six days making it one of the highest in the world.
