10th SaMaPa Aalap Festival celebrated in J&K

The historic Jio Pota Ghat on the banks of river Chenab in the border belt of Akhnoor in Jammu, woke up to the soulful renditions of Sufi artists Abhay Sopori and Ragini Rainu today.

The 10th edition of SaMaPa Aalap Festival presented by SaMaPa (Sopori Academy of Music And Performing Arts) was specially organised to reach out to the masses at the borders.

The programme featured renditions by renowned Sufi vocalist Ragini Rainu and music maestro Abhay Rustum Sopori.

Sopori is credited with bringing in a cultural revolution in Jammu and Kashmir and creating a new generation of music connoisseurs.
 

The cultural wing artists of Department of Information and Public Relations, J&K, presented Sufi, Dogri, Punjabi and Devotional songs at the event.
