Senior officials would make surprise checks at least once a week to monitor attendance and maintain work culture, Sports and Transport Minister Madan Mitra said today quoting from a circular.
Mitra said that both departments would introduce e-tender within 15 days for total transparency.
Officials of both departments have also been asked to submit audit reports to him within seven days, he said.
Mitra said that private bus operators had sought cooperation from the government to boost revenue collection through proper checking.
"We have agreed to cooperate with them," the minister added.
