11 booked for corruption under JSV scheme in Yavatmal

The police have booked eleven persons, including three engineers, for alleged irregularities and corruption in the central government sponsored Jawahar Sinchan Vihir (JSV) programme.

The case has been filed at Bittergaon police in Umarkhed tehsil of the district.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Yavatmal Zilla Parishad Deepak Singla, said, he had ordered a probe after receiving complaints about the irregularities and corruption while sanctioning the fund under the scheme.

"A probe was conducted by the Block Development Officer (BDO) into the corruption charges in the scheme being implemented under the Umarkhed Panchayat Samiti and the report confirmed that the allegations were true," Singla said.
 

An FIR has been filed against all the accused, said Singla.

Besides, the three engineers, others who have been booked include two gramsevaks, former and sitting sarpanchs (village heads) and four fake beneficiaries of the scheme.
