11-day job summit in Delhi begins tomorrow

In order to provide employment opportunities to youths, Delhi government will organise a 11-day job summit here starting from tomorrow.

According to government, as many as 25 private companies will participate in the summit, to be held across four district employment exchanges, offering job opportunities to thousands of youths.

"Around 25 private companies have been approached and they have given their consent for participation and will offer jobs to unemployed persons," labour minister Gopal Rai said.

The jobs to be offered to interested candidates are that of security guards, attendants, helpers, housekeeping, tele-callers, financial planning advisors, drivers, peons and data entry operators among others, the minister said.
 

Parliamentary secretary (Employment) Sarita Singh said the government has also decided to provide training programme to those candidates who failed in interview.

"This is being done for the first time that government will give training to such youths who could not pass their interview in the job summit.

"Government will ink agreement with such companies which have expertise in skill training field," Singh said.

The summit is being organised simultaneously at the four District Employment Exchanges in R K Puram, Vishwas Nagar in Shahadara, Kirby Place in Delhi Cantt and at the IARI Complex in Pusa.

The concluding session of the job summit will also be organised on August 11 in North Delhi's Civil Lines area, Singh said.
