: Eleven fishermen from Tamil Nadu were arrested Monday by Sri Lankan Naval personnel for allegedly crossing the International Maritime Boundary line and fishing near Neduntheevu in the island nation.
President of a local fishermen's association P Sesu Raja said he had received information the 11 fishermen had inadvertently crossed the IMBL while looking for a good catch following the recent spell of rain.
The fishermen were later taken to Kankesanthurai in the island nation.
Their two boats were also seized.
Earlier this month, nearly 1,000 fishermen were chased away by the Lankan Navy for allegedly fishing off Katchatheevu islet and their fishing gear was destroyed.
