11 killed, 22 injured in JK road mishaps

Ten people were killed and two others injured when a jeep, en route to Drabshalla from Sarore, skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Drabshalla, about 200 km from here in Kishtwar, they said.

Nine people died on the spot and three injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where one of them succumbed to injuries during treatment.

Another injured was airlifted here and admitted to Government Medical College hospital for specialised treatment.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced Rs one lakh each to the next of kins of those killed and Rs 10,000 to the injured.

In another accident, one person was killed and 20 others were injured when a bus skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at Kotranka in Rajouri, police said.
