With 11 more arrests in connection with the arson at Ambagaon village in Odisha's Ganjam district, the total number of people arrested in Sunday's case went upto 22.

"Out of those arrested 12 persons belong to one group and the rest to the other," Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Chikiti), B K Nayak said.

The situation in the trouble-torn village where security was tightened is under control, he said adding while fresh arrest of 11 persons was made yesterday, the rest had been taken into custody on Monday.

At least three persons were injured, one of them seriously in the group clash, in which 40 houses were set ablaze and bombs hurled by the rival groups in the village, about 45 km from here.

One of the seriously injured persons was referred to Visakhapatnam, while others were undergoing treatment at Jarada hospital, sources said.

Meanwhile, Ganjam district units of BJP and AAP blamed the police for the incident and said the clash was a sequel to another recent incident.

Police remained mute spectators as ruling BJD supporters attacked their political rivals, senior BJP leader Rama Chandra Panda alleged.
