11 Naxals surrender in Chhattisgarh

Eleven Maoist ultras today surrendered before the police in Naxal-infested Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, officials said.

Kursum Sankar (30), Kursum Aayti (28), Jaysingh Netam (28), Punem Mangu alias Mallesh (28), Madvi Nanda alias Rajesh (30), Korsa Mangu alias Budram (27), Modiam Badru (22), Modiam Ramu alias Rakesh (22), Kursum Soma (35), Avlam Soma alias Sunil (35) and Oyam Sukku (26) surrendered before the police in Bijapur, they said.

According to officials, three of the surrendered Naxals carried a reward of Rs eight lakh for their arrest.

The surrendered ultras will be given Rs five thousand each and can avail other government's schemes, they added.
