11-yr-old boy dies while trying to perform fire stunt

An 11-year-old boy died today at a hospital in Hyderabad after he tried to perform a fire stunt in Manthani town in Peddapalli district, police said today.

The boy, identified as Rapalle Kasi Vishwanath, a class VI student, was at his grandmother's house in Manthani where he was saw the fire breathing stunt in a reality show on Tuesday, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ramagundam), Apoorva Rao said.

"While trying to imitate the stunt on the same day, he took kerosene in mouth and lit fire near it. The stunt went wrong while he tried to pour the kerosene out and was soon engulfed in the blaze," Rao said.
 

The boy was immediately rushed to a hospital in Manthani, nearly 70-km from here, from where he was referred to Hyderabad.

He succumbed to severe burn injuries today, the officer said.

A case has been registered with Banjara Hills police in the state capital, she said.
