A total of 113 communal incidents have taken place in various parts of the country during May-June in which 15 people were killed and 318 others were injured, Rajya Sabha was informed today.
Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said 27 communal incidents have taken place in Uttar Pradesh in the two month period in which six people were killed and 78 others were injured.
Replying to a written question of Congress member Madhusudan Mistry, Rijiju said, in Maharashtra, there were 20 incidents of communal violence in which one people were killed and 30 others were injured during the said period.

The Minister said Karnataka saw 11 incidents of communal violence in which 24 people were injured, there were 10 such incidents in Bihar where 1 people were killed and 44 injured and 10 communal incidents in Rajasthan in which 2 people were killed and 29 others injured.
There were two communal incidents in West Bengal in which four people were injured, he said.
