Organised under the aegis of Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the four-day tournament will be hosted at the Beldih and Golmuri course, said Farzan Heerjee, Secretary of Beldih Golf course here.
Addressing a press conference here, Heerjee, flanked by the PGTI Directors Uttam Singh and Padamjit Sandhu, said over 118 professionals including current Rolex Ranking leader Shamim Khan, Rashid Khan, Gurki Shergill, Harendra Gupta, Om Prakash Chouhan, Abhijit Singh Chadha, Shankar Das, Firoz Ali Mollah will vie for top honour during the four-day Rs 50 lakh prize money tournament.
The top foreign golfers in the field included Mithun Perera and Anura Rohana (Sri Lanka), Kunal Bhasin (Australia), Md Zamal Hossain Mollah (Bangladesh).
Singh said Tata Open was unique in the sense that it will be staged at two lush green and well maintained golf courses - Beldih and Golmuri.
The first day of the tournament will be played on the first time 18-hole Golmuri course while the second day will be staged at 9-hole Beldih course. The course will be reversed on the third and fourth day following the cut.
The Tata Open will be preceded by Pro-arm, to be staged on November 21.
Sandhu said Tata Open has always been one of the most competitive events on the PGTI, with professionals using their skills to the maximum in order to excel at two different courses.
