12 arrested for petrol theft at Indian Oil depot

Twelve persons were arrested today for allegedly stealing petrol and diesel from a depot of Indian Oil Corporation in the Nadarganj area here, police said.

The police team seized five vehicles used for transporting smuggled petrol and diesel along with 900 litres of diesel, 70 litres of kerosene, 40 containers and five measuring instruments, a statement by the police said.

Apart from these, seven mobile phones and Rs 71,370 were also seized from the accused, it said.

A case has been registered in this regard against the 12 persons, police said, adding efforts are on to arrest the remaining six accused.
