"The Sashastra Seema Bal has established 12 new BOPs near the Indo-Nepal border in Shravasti, Balrampur, Siddharth Nagar, Maharajganj districts," DIG of Sashastra Seema Bal, Raj Singh Shekhawat told PTI.
With this, the number of BOPs along the Nepal border will rise to 84, he said.
Shekhawat said that the new BOPs had been set up in view of increased nefarious activities along the porous border.
The government plans to establish new BOPs at Morighat, Rehra, Soniatal, Laxmipur, Kormiswa, Sonpirighat of Mahrajganj district, Kapishawa, Pokharbhitwa, Jhingti, Thathri Market, Chrigaon of Siddharthnagar district and at Bachoket Naka in Shravasti district, he said.
The DIG added that in order to curb Maoist activities, the force has established 72 BOPs which carry out various operational duties.
