Election authorities have sought 12 companies of paramilitary forces for deployment in sensitive and hyper sensitive polling booths in the district for the April 24 Lok Sabha elections.
Besides this, services of retired defence personnel, NSS NCC cadets and fire and forest personnel would also be utilised for seurity duty, District Superintendent of Police Vijayakumar told reporters here today.
District Collector K Bhasker said the operation of clearing unauthorised banners, in view of election code of conduct coming into force from yesterday, would be completed by tomorrow.
The SP said five check posts had been created for checking movements of money and goods. Cash exceeding Rs 50,000 would require proper doccuments to account for them.
