12 more succumb to swine flu in Rajasthan, toll jumps to 165

Twelve more persons succumbed to swine flu in different parts of Rajasthan, taking the toll due to the H1N1 virus in the state to 165 this year.

An official of Medical and Health Directorate (MHD) today said four persons died of swine flu in Nagaur, two each died in Jaipur, Jodhpur and Barmer, and one each in Sikar and Bikaner, in the last 24 hours.

While 33 districts in the state have reported cases of swine flu, eight districts of Sawaimadhopur, Dholpur, Sirohi, Jalore, Baran, Jhalawar, Pratpagarh, and Rajsamand have not reported any mortality due to H1N1.

Out of the 2569 patients testing positive for the virus, 165 have died in the state this year, he said.
 

So far, Jaipur has reported 28 deaths due to the H1N1 virus, maximum in the state, followed by Ajmer 24, Jodhpur and Nagaur 17 each, Barmer 15, Kota 9, Chittorgarh 7, Banswara 6, and one to five deaths elsewhere in the state since January.
