Twelve members of a family were killed and two others were seriously injured today when the SUV they were travelling in collided with a truck in Karma area here, police said.
The incident took place this evening when the family members were returning from Vidhyachal after performing a religious ceremony. The SUV collided with the truck on a culvert killing 10 persons on the spot, and injuring four.
The injured were rushed to a hospital, where two of them died a little later. The condition of the rest was stated to be critical but stable, police said.
All those died and injured were in the SUV.
Those killed included four women, five men and three children.
