Twelve Delhi police officials have been suspended within two days on the charges of dereliction in duty in connection with two separate cases.

According to a senior police officer, out of the 12 suspended policemen, five were deputed in Vasant Kunj North police station here while seven were working at Kamla Market police station.

The officer said said five policemen were suspended today after a raid was conducted at a night club which was found operating allegedly without having requisite licenses.

The night club 'Billionaire' was found violating the guidelines set for pubs and discotheques in the national capital, the officer said, adding it was found open after the permissible time limit of 12.30 am and liquor was being served to customers.

The raid was conducted at around 2 am by a special team and over 100 boys and girls were found present there, he said.

Regarding the seven suspended policemen of Kamla Market Police station, the officer said they failed to stop the saleof minor girls at brothels here.

"Following the case of a 14-year-old girl being sold on a brothel, these policemen were suspended," the official said.

He also said four persons -- including a brothel mistress, victim's buyer Suman, another woman Premawati and her husband, a DTC bus helper -- have also been arrested in connection with the case.

The girl, who belongs to the family of a political party in West Bengal, was kidnapped two months ago allegedly by the son of his family's rival party.

She was then sold to Suman who with the help of Premawati forced her into prostitution, the officer said, adding she was rescued on November 20 from a secluded place in Shastri Park area here.
