At least 12 people were injured today as police resorted to lathicharge to control a mob which tried to disrupt road traffic on the Isan river bridge here while protesting against an alleged murder of a watchman.
Yogesh (22), a watchman in the State Water Corporation Department, was found dead from the store room of the office in Hind Puram colony area yesterday, police said.
Alleging it to be a murder, family members of Yogesh had ransacked the office and set it ablaze which was doused by fire brigade officials, police said.

Today they started disrupting the road traffic demanding immediate arrest of those responsible for the murder, police said adding when the police tried to disperse them, they indulged in heavy brickbatting damaging about six buses stranded on the road and injuring about 12 passengers also.
Additional force was rushed to the spot to control the situation and police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the angry mob in which at least 12 protesters got injured, they said.
A probe was on in the murder case, police said.
