Nepalese police arrested a dozen student activists belonging to the Nepal Students' Union - the student wing of the opposition Nepali Congress Party - Thursday for taking out anti-government rallies here.
The NSU staged protests in different parts of Kathmandu against the government's decision to test pesticides in vegetables and fruits imported from India.
The government earlier decided to test pesticides on imported fruits and vegetables. However, it withdrew the decision for the time being citing lack of chemical testing facilities at the border entry points.
