12-year-old dies in clash over empty plot in UP

A 12-year-old boy died and six others injured today following a clash between two groups over construction in a disputed land at Shikarpur village here, police said.

Clashes broke out between two groups today over construction in an empty plot of land at Shikarpur village under Bhorakala police station area here today, SP Inspector Singh said.

The incident left Suhel (12) dead and six others injured, he said.

The trouble started when a group of people started construction on the plot that was hindered by the other group. Fire arms and sharp weapons were used by the groups, Singh said.
 

Suhel died on the spot and the injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital, police said.

A case has been registered against 12 people following the complaint by Gul Mohammed, they said, adding that the complainant stated that the accused attacked his group while his people were doing construction on the plot.

Security has been tightened in the village following the incident, police added.
