Nearly 1200 students participated in the 'Clean City-Green City Walkathon 2016' held here today as part of the World Green building Week 2016 being observed all over the world.
Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo flagged off the walkathon which started from the Nehru Maidan and culminated at Mangala stadium.
City Corporation Mayor Harinath, who was present on the occasion complimented the initiative taken by the organisers and their concern to keep the city clean and green.
The event was organised by students and staff of the Beary Institute of Technology Mangaluru in association with Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) under the banner of Indian Green Building Council students' chapter.
