125 training camps for dairy farmers to be held in Punjab

Punjab government is going to organise 125 special training camps for dairy farmers in all districts of the state from this month.

Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development Gulzar Singh Ranike today said the main purpose of the camps would be to educate farmers about growing benefits in dairy profession, an official statement said here.

He said besides giving knowledge on different techniques of dairy farm management, the candidates would be imparted training in artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis and milk handling.

District level seminars would be organised for dairy farmers at Sri Muktsar Sahib, Roopnagar on November 4, Ramgarh Kulia village, Hoshiarpur on November 7, Paragpur village, Jalandhar on November 9, Patiala on November 19 and Grain Market Sangrur on November 28, the statement said.
 

Ranike said Punjab government is providing subsidies upto 75 per cent to dairy farmers who are willing to purchase livestock, construct sheds or insure milch animals.
