13 children get injured as school bus overturns in Kota

A private school bus today overturned due to a technical glitch injuring 13 students and the bus driver, near Etawa town of the district.

The preliminary investigation suggested that the incident took place when the steering of the bus of Madhav Bal Senior Secondary school failed to work, resulting in the mishap, police said.

Six of the injured students and the driver were referred to Kota for further precautionary treatment while the rest were discharged after the first aid, said Station House Officer, Pipalda police station, Bharat Singh.

The 12th standard students were on Geography survey tour from the school at the time of the incident, police added.
 

The investigation in to the matter is still underway and a case in this connection would also be lodged after the receipt of complaint from parents or school management, SHO added.

No student in the incident has received critical or severe injury, he said.

The students were called to school today despite its being the holiday as they were scheduled to go on geography survey tour to nearby Aanasar area, the SHO also added.
