13 eve-teasing cases against TTEs and security men

There were 13 complaints registered against train ticket examiners (TTEs), police and armed forces personnel regarding eve-teasing and sexual exploitation of women in trains in 2013, the Lok Sabha was told today.

Besides, there were also two cases of women jumping out from moving trains year, Minister of State for Railways Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said in a written reply in the House.

He said railways have undertaken several measures to ensure security of women passengers.

Sensitization through awareness campaigns among the front line railway staff like ticket checking staff, RPF and onboard employees who have constant interface with the travelling public towards crime against women is being done.
 

Security helpline numbers have been set up in zonal control rooms to facilitate the pasengers, especially the lady passengers, to inform about any untoward incidents.
