13 gold biscuits seized at Hyd airport; one held

Customs officials today seized 13 gold biscuits weighing over 3.5 kg in two separate cases of smuggling at the international airport here.

In the first case, seven gold biscuits weighing 817 gms were seized from a passenger who arrived in a flight from Sharjah, a senior Customs official said.

The flyer was arrested and produced before a court.

In another case, gold biscuits weighing 2.8 kgs were found concealed under the seat of a plane that arrived from Dubai on its way to Visakhapatnam, he said.

"Six gold biscuits weighing 2.8 kgs were found left behind concealed beneath a seat of the plane. There was no claimant for the same. We are investigating who brought this gold," the official said.
