arrested following a clash between the police and public of Shibpur after a police officer's wife, driving a training car, hit an old man, the police said.
The woman, the wife of an assistant commissioner of police of the Howrah Commissionerate, was heckled by local people who also put up a road blockade at Kajipara for a brief period alleging lathicharge on them by the police.
The police, however, denied any lathicharge and said the old man, who was hit by the training car, was not injured.
Later, 13 persons were arrested.
