At least 13 people were killed and 12 others injured today when a vehicle lost control and ran into a crowd in China's southwestern Guizhou province.
According to the local government, the brakes of a stone-laden van failed and the driver lost control of the vehicle in Xingyi, Guizhou.
The van careered through a crowd of villagers and rolled over, killing 13 people and injuring 12 others.
The injured have been admitted to hospital.
