At least 13 people were killed today after a fire broke out in a coal mine in northeast China's Liaoning Province.
The fire broke out in the afternoon at a mine in Huludao City.
23 miners were trapped in the mine, out of which 13 people died while the rest were rescued, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

Initial investigations showed the fire started from electric welding, the report said.
This was the second mining accident in as many days.
Yesterday, 17 workers were trapped in a coalminein China after an explosion. The incident happened in northeast China's Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province.
Fifty people were working under the shaft when the explosion took place. Thirty three managed to escape after the accident.
