13 minor labourers rescued in Hyderabad

Thirteen minor labourers from West Bengal have been rescued from a bag manufacturing unit in Kalapathar area here.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided the factory at around midnight and found that among the workers, 13 were minors, hailing from West Bengal. Two of them were under 14 years old, police said.

They were working in the factory for the last one month and were provided food and shelter apart from a monthly salary of Rs 5,000, police said.

The owner was being questioned by the police.

On July 29, 55 minor workers from different parts of the country were rescued by the Government Railway Police at the Secunderabad railway station here.
 

Before that, on July 26, 14 minor boys had been rescued by the city police from Secunderabad railway station.
