13 naxals arrested from two places in Chhattisgarh

As many as 13naxals, mostly lower rung cadres, were todayarrestedfrom two places in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Sukma district, police said.

"While seven ultras were arrested from Bhejji police station area, six others fromKukanar police station limits," a senior police official told PTI.

Separate joint teams of District Reserve Guard (DRG) and District Force were involved in these action, he added.

One of the patrolling teams was out on an anti-Maoist operation in Bhejji area, when it rounded up seven cadres, belonging to Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisaan Mazdoor Sangthan (DAKMS)-- a frontal outfit of maoists, between Kottacheru and Bankupara villages, he said.

They were allegedly involved in triggering improvised bomb blast coupled with firing in a bid to harm security forces near Regadgatta rivulet in Bhejji area on August 27, he said.
 

Couple of detonators, electric wire, camera flash, battery, bows and arrows was also recovered from them, he added.

The six other lower rung cadres who were arrested from Kukanar, were allegedly involved in firing on a police party near Jongeras village (Sukma) in June last year, he added.
