13 nominations for bypolls to Noida assembly seat

A total of 13 nominations have been received for the September 13 by-election to the Noida assembly seat, the nomination process for which came to an end today.

"A total of 13 nomination forms have been received for by-election to Noida assembly seat," said Rajesh Kumar, Returning Officer.

He said scrutiny of nomination papers would be done on August 28 and last date of withdrawal is August 30.

The polling is on September 13, and counting of votes will be on September 16.

BJP and ruling SP has nominated women candidates from the seat.

BJP has fielded 61-year-old entrepreneur Vimla Batham while SP has nominated a housewife 35-year-old Kajal Sharma, who is wife of Bhagwan Sharma alias Guddu Pandit -- sitting MLA from Dibai in Bulandshahar.
 

While Batham is a post graduate Kajal has done MBA from Amity University.

Congress has fielded a businessman Rajindra Awana (51) while CPI a Delhi University Professor Sadashiv. Iklakh Abbasi is a candidate of Lok Dal candidate, Mahesh Kumar Upadhyay of CPI(M) , Viresh Kumar of Rashtriya Kranti Party and Pankaj Upadhyay of Rashtriya Janta Party.

Rest of the others are independent candidates.
