13 pc votes cast in election to 24 legislative council seats

Thirteen per cent voters' turnout has been reported in the first two hours for the biennial election to 24 legislative council seats in Bihar today.

According to a release issued by the office of Chief Electoral Officer, polling was brisk in Nalanda where 32 per cent voters turned up for voting till 10 AM.

Aurangabad and Muzaffarpur witnessed 22 and 20 per cent votes respectively, it said.

A total of 1,38,904 voters are eligible to exercise their franchise in the legislative council polls for 24 seats in which 152 candidates are in the fray.

The Election Commission has set up 534 polling booths to enable the voters to cast their franchise for the polls.
